Group 8 has largely based its research and experience in the education sector. Since 2003, our growing body of research has been able to inform innovative thinking towards school cultures where student and teachers thrive.
We take an integrated approach that
- takes account of the ideal brain states that promote higher-order learning in both students and adults
- explicitly unpacks what it is that outstanding teachers, mentors, parents and leaders are doing
- provides experiential learning towards creating both the internal (individual) and external (organisational) conditions for learning and growth
Our program modules include:
- A stakeholder communications strategy.
- 4 x 1-Day development workshops for senior leaders over 12 months (middle leaders included in Days 3 & 4). Days 1 & 3 are training days, while days 2 & 4 are facilitated workshops.
- Senior leaders are individually coached over 5 sessions following Day 1, a selected senior leader continues to be coached for a further 5 sessions following Day 2.
- Student Voice (measuring the learning environment provided by the school) and Teacher Voice (measuring the working environment provided by the school) are implemented between Day 1 and Day 2 and are inputs to Day 2.
- Day 3 provides coaching training to middle and senior leaders specifically around coaching teachers using student feedback to individual teachers as one input, teachers are subsequently coached by leaders in this way, student feedback is gathered anonymously on line and provided confidentially to each teacher.
- Day 4 consolidates 12 months learning and builds leaders’ clarity and commitment to continuing school improvement
- Student Voice and Teacher Voice are repeated (at first anniversary) to measure shifts.
