Teachers – Newer
teachers receive coaching from Middle Leaders
around developing goal clarity. Experience shows
that this leads to a proportion of these teachers
seeking out other teachers to observe in the
classroom or otherwise collaborate with in order to
achieve their development goals.
The provision of training to all teachers in peer coaching (where the OBSERVER is the coachee) allows the introduction of the concepts underpinning a learning culture in a non-threatening way and a means for teachers to practice the key attitudes and behaviours with their peers.
Training is delivered in-house and can be a series of one hour sessions over six weeks or fewer, longer sessions one or two weeks apart, or done on a single, student-free day.
Benefits: short-term benefits in providing teachers with tools to develop their own practice, long-term benefit in shifting towards the culture that underpins high performance in the classroom
